Hi everyone and welcome to our blog all about our adventure through South America! About a year ago, I got the idea of cycling the length of the continent and Rachel thought it would be a great way to raise money for a good cause. We get to have the holiday of a lifetime and raise some much needed funds for an amazing organization, Oxfam Canada.
Oxfam is a international confederation of 18 organizations working together with partners and local communities in over 90 countries worldwide to end inequality and mobilize the power of people against poverty. It is an incredible non-profit which Rachel has been volunteering with for the last few years. When we decided to fundraise on our cycling trip, we knew that we wanted the money to go towards the diverse and important work Oxfam does in South America.
We are starting our trip in Bogota, Colombia and finishing up in Ushuaia, Argentina. We’ll be cycling over 11,000km through Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia, Chile and Argentina…hopefully! Neither of us have ever done anything like this before so we hope you enjoy following the ups and downs (pun intended!) of cycling through the Andes!
